How to Calculate Machine Capacity in Apparel Industry?

How to Calculate Machine (hr) Capacity in Apparel Industry?

Machines (hr) capacity calculation is not a tough task that we have normally seemed. It is an important matter in the readymade garments sector. To calculate the production capacity of the garment industry, machine (hr) capacity must be needed. As its importance in the garments manufacturing sector, today I will present here the calculation method of machine (hr) capacity in the apparel industry.

What is Machine (hr) Capacity?

Machines (hr) capacity of a garment factory is totally related to the number of sewing lines, sewing machines, and working hours per day. Its directly proportional to the multiple results of those i.e. number of sewing lines, sewing machine, and working hours per day.

Machine Capacity Calculation in Garments Industry:

For calculating m/c (hr) capacity in the garments industry, we have needed the following information:

  1. Sewing line in that factory,
  2. Machines in each sewing line,
  3. Working hours per day.

Now, by using the below formula, we can easily calculate the m/c (hr) capacity in the apparel industry.

Machine capacity,

= No. of sewing line in that factory × No. of machines in each sewing line × Working hours per day

Example:

Suppose, Nishat Fashions Ltd. has 10 sewing lines where each sewing line has 20 machines and working hours per day for the factory is 8, then calculate the m/c capacity for that factory.

Solution:

Here,

No. of sewing line in that factory= 10
No. of machines in each sewing line= 20
Working hours per day= 8

So,

Machine capacity,

= No. of sewing line in that factory × No. of machines in each sewing line × Working hours per day
= 10 × 20 × 8
= 1600hrs.

So, m/c (hr) capacity for the above garments factory is 1600hrs.

Speech from the writer:

If you read this article with full concentration, then you can easily answer the following questions in the interview:

  1. What do you mean by the m/c capacity of a garments industry?
  2. How to calculate m/c (hr) capacity in the garments industry?
  3. Calculate the m/c (hr) capacity of the clothing industry.
  4. Determine the m/c (hr) capacity of the apparel industry.
