8 Sewing Faults With Causes and Remedies:
The sewing section is the most important department of the garments manufacturing factory. Maximum faults arise here which hamper the total quality of apparel. There are mainly eight types of sewing faults seen in the sewing section of the readymade garments factory which are explained in this article with their causes and remedies.
Common Sewing Problem with Causes and Remedies:
Various types of sewing problem which arises during sewing the garments are-
- Skipped stitches,
- Unbalance stitch,
- Staggered stitch,
- Variable stitch density,
- Seam puckering,
- Bobbin or looper thread breakage,
- Needle thread breakage,
- Thread fusing when the sewing machine stops.
All the above sewing faults have explained below with their causes and remedies:
1. Skipped stitches:

Correct threading of sewing thread during sewing.

Excessive tension of the thread.

The tension of the thread should be less or the use of higher strength threads.
|

|
Using of broken check spring.

Check spring should be changed.

|
Fraying of thread in the needle.
|
Finer threads should be used or to be used heavy needle.
|
|

|
Becoming more heated of sewing thread.
|
Needle lubricant and needle cooler should be used.
|
|
08
|
Becoming more heated of the hook.
|
Lubricant should be available and test the distance between needle and hook.
|

Using low-quality sewing thread.

The sewing thread should be changed.

5. Seam puckering:
